Grab a cuppa and make yourself comfy.
Welcome to glossary, an archive of notes about all the things that make everyday life a little nicer—style, beauty, books, pop culture moments, cultural obsessions—collected right alongside musings about the stuff that really matters, too.
You’ll feel right at home here if you:
Love fashion and a good deal (or a great dupe)
Shed an actual tear when you missed out on Eras Tour tickets and stay up late reading long-form journalism about the state of the world
Are proudly Y2K era but also deeply relieved to leave low-rise jeans behind
Scroll the Met Gala red carpet and major news headlines with equal fervor—and have thoughts on both
Feel both sure and unsure of who you are, but know for certain you want to dress like yourself (whatever that means)
Sometimes just want to curl up in a cozy corner of the internet curated by an online bff who just gets it.
Sounds like you, right? Thought so.
Welcome. You’re right on time.
Born out of my love affair with my iPhone Notes app (2,600 and counting), mood boards, and voice notes, glossary serves as a digital record of the things that make life sparkle—and sometimes sting—all collected in one place.
It’s the home of Where’s that from? and Do I need this? and Okay so get this…
Oh, and by the way, hi! A little more about me…
I’m Sarah (aka Ms. Fraser from 9-3, when I’m wrangling teenagers in a high school alternate program just outside Vancouver, Canada). I’m a teacher by day, a writer at heart, and a lifelong noticer of the tiny details and in-between moments that make up a life.
For better or worse, I’m interested in the stuff that sits at the intersection of style and soul—the way getting dressed in the right outfit can shift your day, how a swipe of eyeliner can be a small but mighty confidence boost.
I write here to romanticize the mundane, share my favourite fashion and beauty finds, and ask the deeper questions we’re all wondering.
glossary is less about me trying to be an influencer, and more about being a real person who wears nice clothes, covets a good fragrance, sometimes cries in the car, and relishes in being like other girls.
This is a publication for the girls (and women, and femmes) who know life is too short to gatekeep the good stuff. So we wear the perfume, write the thing, tell the story, and take the damn selfie.
If you click Subscribe, you’ll be the first to read my words when I post here. Alongside recommendations, roundups, and reviews of my faves, I also write snippets and essays and ideas that one day I’d love to bring to life as a whole.
For now, they live here.
The short version of my story, if you’re wondering, is that I’m a Canadian elder Millennial, teacher who also happens to be an aesthete, style-obsessed human who loves to write, read, and share the things I’m excited about while fully acknowledging that sometimes shit is hard.
The longer versions can be read here or here.
If you’re still reading, you’re in the right place.
Make yourself comfortable. Here you’ll find a mix of:
Personal style and fashion edits
Beauty obsessions
Shopping roundups and wishlists
Playlists and pop culture musings
Moodboards
Personal essays and deeper reflections on life and girlhood
All of which add up to a collection—a glossary, if you will—of faves and thoughtful recs from your online bff. (That’s me!)
Now with all that out of the way, let’s be friends.
